Minny “Frank” Mallery, J.D., fondly nicknamed, “Loophole Minny” by one of her Attorney clients, received her Juris Doctor degree in 2019 after many years of standing by and watching several injustices happen to her and her family. The first one was losing her daughter in a bitter child custody battle where she went up against the Chief Judge in Frederick County and ended up getting him recused off of her case. But it wasn’t until her mother passed away in 2008 that she truly felt that she had a knack for the law. Minny battled two life insurance companies on behalf of her late mother and on behalf of her ex-husband when their benefits were denied a year after the policies had expired. She represented herself in both actions, winning over $750,000. Minny “Frank” Mallery also sued the County of Humboldt to change their policies for how they handled her son’s medical care and treatment while he was in their custody. She also represented herself in that case and a settlement was offered to her, but she refused it because it’s not about the money for Minny, it’s about change. Minny filed civil litigation against the Maryland Public Defender’s office for Negligent misrepresentation and appealed it to the Court of Special Appeals.
In 2011 Minny “Frank” Mallery filed civil litigation against the City of Bend and St. Charles Bend Hospital in an effort to get them to change their policies on how they treated the mentally ill to deter unnecessary traumatizing strip searches of patients in mental wards of the hospital. Minny followed that case through to depositions, summary judgment and subsequent appeal. In addition, Minny initiated litigation against the State of Oregon for similar reasons.
In 2015 Minny “Frank” Mallery passed the California Baby Bar exam on her first attempt, a bar exam with a 20% pass rate at the time, but due to health reasons she decided to not sit for the full bar exam in 2019 for which is still eligible to sit for if she should so wish. Minny has a background in Family Law, Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Tort Claims against Government Entities, Federal and State Court level litigation and is very well versed in holding depositions, brief writing, including Appellate briefs and is a true legal research addict. Minny “Frank” Mallery is currently accepting new clients starting this Fall. Stay tuned for website updates.
